A loan of $1,200 helped a member to buy beer.

Flor De Primavera Group's story

The “FLOR DE PRIMAVERA” communal bank will begin its fifth cycle in Pro Mujer, as a part of the Alto Lima center. It is made up of eight members and is led by a board of directors headed Guillermina. The businesses that the members of the communal bank run are varied. Among them we have: selling beer, selling radio parts selling salchipapas.

Guillermina remarks that she has worked with Pro Mujer for two years and she joined the institution at a promotor's invitation. At present, she has a business selling beer and has been doing this for years.

The loan she is now taking out is to increase her capital, buying beer from distributors and later selling it at area festivals in the city of La Paz and El Alto. This work helps her support her family. She is in a common law marriage and has 4 children.
