Abdallah's story

Abdallah is a farmer in Kitale area of Western Kenya and has been in mixed farming for 17 years. He is aged 37 and married with four children with the last two still schooling. He sells his farm produce of maize, milk and horticultural products within the local market. He gets additional income from his bicycle repair.

Abdallah has requested a loan of 60,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to buy poultry birds .He says the new venture will help him spread his farming risk and offer better nutrition for his family. He is optimistic and says he will have a stable source of income to be able to take good care of his family.

Abdallah laments the high cost of feed and other inputs, coupled with lack of enough capital.
