Tatu is a married woman with four children, three of whom are enrolled in school while one is married. Her husband is a teacher who contributes to providing for the family's basic needs. She lives in a rental house with electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for her family.
Tatu has operated a food stall for the past 5 years. Her potential clients are the area locals. She faces a major challenge of lack of customers sometimes. She dreams of establishing a café in the future.
With the Kshs 50,000 she wants to purchase more stock of maize flour, wheat flour, rice, beans and cooking oil for her business. She decided to join Yehu to access loan facilities easily.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
