Elbia Estrella's story

The communal bank 'San Patricio' meets every 15 days in the neighborhood of Cuba in the city of Manta. A city known for its beautiful beaches that are widely visited in every season of the year and for being a beautiful city without comparison with many tourist attractions.
Elbia lives in this place. She is 44 years old and is in a common-law marriage of which she has two children of 16 and 6 years of age. The children are in school. The husband is a merchant.
She requests the loan with the goal of helping her husband with his business and in that way contribute to the household expenses. Her husband will use the loan in his business, which is the sale of coconut water. Everyday he takes his vending cart close to a grilled chicken place in the city. In this place he sells the delicious iced coconut water. He has been dedicated to this business for more than 5 years and thanks to it he has been able to improve his family's standard of living.
She is going to use the loan to buy coconuts, plastic cups, straws, napkins among other things that are necessary for his business. She has been with the communal bank for more than 5 years, and she likes it because thanks to the first loan her husband started this business.
Her dream is to have a car so she can go directly to the producers to buy her products.
