A loan of $300 helped to buy cement, sand, iron, and to pay labourers to build a hallway in his home.

Lidio Edvín's story

Lidio is 29, single, and lives with his mother, sister, and three nieces and nephews. He has worked as a security guard for a business for two years, and he is very good at his job. Before getting this job, he worked in agriculture; this is the job his father taught him.
He still cultivates food, but only for his family's consumption. He buys supplies such as fertilizer and pesticides in a city in the east of the country. In order to get there, he has to walk two and a half kilometers to catch the bus. Coming back, he has to carry everything with him and walk back home.
Lidio is requesting this loan for the purchase of cement, sand, and iron, and to pay labourers to build a hallway in his home; the current one is damaged. This way, his family will be more secure; the hallway is dangerous. The earthquakes have damaged the supporting beam, and Lidio doesn't have the money to repair it. In the future he wants to make other repairs to his home; for example, to put in a floor. He wants to provide his family with a dignified and secure home.
