A loan of $600 helped to buy a refrigerator and sell ice cream products.

José Transito's story

Jose is 37 years old. He is a single father and lives with his mom, brothers and his daughter.

He has 22 years of experience working in agriculture. Aside from agricultural work he also serves as a museum guard. It was his father who taught him how and encouraged him to perform these activities.

Jose buys agricultural supplies in a city that is 39 kilometers from the municipality where he lives. The distance from his house to where he catches the bus is 8 kilometers, which takes him an hour and a half to walk.

He has requested a loan from 'Fundación Campo' to buy a refrigerator. A few days ago he had electricity installed in his home and now his goal is to sell ice cream. Currently there is no one in his area that sells ice cream, so this could be a good source of income that will allow him to improve his economic situation. Jose wants to open a small store out of his home and supply the community with necessities and by doing so improve his quality of life.
