A loan of $750 helped to purchase four bags of pea seeds and several sacks of organic fertilizer.

Rosa's story

43-year-old Rosa lives with her life partner Alexander. They have three children but only two live with them - Denis, 19, and Adeliza, 18. The family lives in their own house, located in the hamlet of Cumutay, in Huasahuasi district.

For 32 years Rosa has been farming and producing potatoes, peas and corn. Thanks to the good soil in her area, her sales have not fallen. Aside from being the main source of income, agriculture brings moments of joy to her family as they spend the weekends together clearing, fertilizing and harvesting their crops. Difficulties also arise in the fields, but Rosa knows how to deal with them thanks to her many years spent working in this industry.

Rosa also has a small grocery store installed in her home, which is well known amongst the locals in her neighborhood. Here she offers a good variety of staple products and necessities.

Rosa is now planning to start another crop of peas, as the months of January and February are crucial for producing a good crop. She belongs to the communal bank 'Pioneros de Cumutay' (Cumutay Pioneers) and this will be her 10th loan with MFP. She hopes for their collaboration to help her finalize her plans. She enjoys working with her communal bank and therefore agrees to comply with the timely payment of her dues.

She will invest this loan in the purchase of four bags of pea seeds and several sacks of organic fertilizer so that she can successfully begin her next planting.
