A loan of $350 helped to buy fertilizer for his crop of blackberries.

Jaime De Jesus's story

Jaime is a very hardworking person. He has always wanted to provide a good life for his wife and three children. For the past four years, Jaime has worked in agriculture. Along a footpath, he has some land where he grows coffee and blackberries. Thanks to this, Jaime generates sufficient income for his home; the income is not much, however, and only covers the basic necessities of his family.

Jaime depends on a large crop of blackberries, which is what generates the most income, compared with his crop of coffee. For this reason, his crop of blackberries is what he works hardest for, and what his customers most want to buy. Jaime sells his blackberry crop to the same person every eight days, who has purchased his harvest for a very good price ever since Jaime started growing them.

Jaime is currently harvesting his crop of blackberries, but his capital is insufficient to purchase the fertilizer necessary for the crops. For this reason, Jaime hopes that a loan will allow him to purchase the fertilizer for this crop of blackberries, sell the harvest for a good price, and continue generating the necessary income to support his family.

Jaime has a dream that his three children can access higher education and that in the future, they do not have as many challenges in life as he has had in his own. For this reason, Jaime always has wanted to provide them with all opportunities so they might succeed. He hopes that his crops become a source of income so that his dream can be fulfilled.
