A loan of $500 helped a member to buy seed and fertilizer.

Sopheak's Group's story

Sopheak is 29 years old and married with a young child. She is a resident of a village in the Ratanak Mondul district of Cambodia in Battambang Province. Agriculture is one of the common businesses in her village and for the last nine years, Sopheak and her husband have worked planting corn and cassava as their primary business. They sometimes also work for others to better feed their family. Sopheak has been with VisionFund since 2008 and has borrowed and repaid three previous loan cycles. As a result, she has improved her living standards and has had sufficient food to eat. Sopheak is requesting another group loan with a group that has been with VisionFund for five years. As the group leader, she will use her entire loan to buy seed and fertilizer for her corn plantation. Sopheak hopes to improve her income, have a big house, and buy a motorbike for her current business.
