Jesca lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is single with three children and all her children go to school. She has one additional family member. She sells soft drinks from home on a retail basis. She is also a primary school teacher. She has been in this business for the last 6 years. She works seven days a week.
She has requested a loan of 600,000 from MCDT SACCO to buy more utensils to be used in selling her juice, a bag of passion fruits and crates of soda. Her major business challenge is the seasonality. Her goal is to build rental houses and also own a room where she can sell her soft drinks from. She lives in rented house and her family has access to electricity, but does not have access to piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees, food and rent.
