Felipe's story

Entrepreneur is the best word to describe Felipe, a young man from the city of Medellín, who has been working for quite some time now in order to generate his own income and be able to improve his parents’ quality of life. Felipe had to leave the town of his birth due to economic problems and moved to Medellín to overcome this adversity. Since then, Felipe has been selling food in some of the city’s sectors and thanks to this generates income necessary to cover household expenses.

Felipe’s sales are currently good and his customers know him because of his tasty food preparation so Felipe wants to continue increasing sales to continue to help his parents with household expenses. Hoping to diversify his products, Felipe wants to add to the products he sells the sale of “arepas de chócolo” [corn griddle cake stuffed with sweet corn and farmer's white cheese] because he thinks that they would sell very well in the morning. To do so, he has to buy a grill to warm them up. However, Felipe does not have enough money to buy it and is hoping for a loan that will make it possible for him to purchase a grill to warm up arepas de chócolo to continue increasing his income.

Felipe hopes that with the increased income his parents will obtain a better quality of life and they will be able to rest from all their hard work. Felipe has a great dream which is to own a chain of fast food places throughout the city and this is why he works every day with more effort and dedication in order to reach his dreams.
