Asha's Tumaini Group's story

Asha is 34 years old and is a married woman with 5 children, ages 16,14,11,7 and 4. She and her husband also take care of 2 other children, ages 12 and 9. Asha owns a food vendor store, which she started in 2001. Everyday, she works from 7am to 10pm at her business and can earn a monthly profit of about $80 from her sales.

In the past, Asha has taken out 1 successful loan from BRAC Tanzania to expand her business. She now hopes for a loan to buy more food items for her business. She will share this loan with her subgroup members, who have businesses dealing in food vending.
