Mohamad is a 36-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and only child. He is the main source of income for his family. He also cooperates with his wife who works as a teacher in a local school. He started his own business as an electrician since 2003. His work consists of setting and installing home electricity. He works upon request on a free-lance basis and has his own shop. Today, he asks for a loan of $1,600 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to replace and buy additional electricity tools. He feels that this will definitely boost his work and thus his profits. In the future, he plans to join a local company where he can benefit from their experience.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
