A loan of $1,100 helped to buy materials and work implements to improve the conditions in which she prepares food.

Luz Marina's story

Luz Marina is a person who is known for being very hard-working and always looking for the best for her children. Her husband died some time ago, and she was left as a single mother and head of the family with three children under her care, two boys and a girl.

Thanks to the fact that Luz Marina has always had the character for self-improvement, she has been able to get ahead and get the needed support for the household expenses. Luz Marina currently makes foods like tamales, blood sausages, and corn pancakes, among other products. This business activity generates sufficient income to cover her household expenses.

However, Luz Marina wants her children to be able to access a good education and to be able to have financial stability. That is why she is always looking to increase her sales. Luz Marina has some good orders from her customers; however, her working conditions are not the best. They are uncomfortable and not very hygienic.

Looking to be able to change this situation, Luz Marina hopes that a loan will allow her to buy materials and working implements like new knives, a steel counter, and other implements in order to be able to develop her business activity with the best conditions.

Luz Marina hopes that once her work conditions have improved, her customers’ orders will increase. She also hopes to be able to win over new customers. With the increase in sales Luz Marina aspires to be able to give her children the best quality of life and access to the best education possible.
