A loan of $1,100 helped to buy rice, sugar, tuna, detergents, and other items of daily use.

Noé Eduardo's story

The members of the communal bank “La Union Hace La Fuerza” [Unity Makes Strength] meet every 15 days in the cantón of Rocafuerte. This place is known for its delicious sweets, which are made by the people there and which are famous throughout the country.

This is where Noé lives. He is 42 years old. He is single and lives in his parent’s house. This is his fourth loan cycle in the communal bank and he likes it for the support and for the terms of the credit.

He has a small grocery store in his father’s house. He sells everything, from rice and sugar to meat, fish, vegetables and some medicines and some other household items. He works every day from 6:00AM until 8:00PM. He has had his business for more than 2 years. Thanks to the loans he’s had, he’s been able to better stock his store over time.

This loan is to stock his store. He will buy rice, sugar, tuna, detergents, and other items of daily use. His dream is to have a larger business.
