A loan of $3,750 helped a member to buy sweets.

Luz De Luna Brillante Group's story

The “Luz de Luna Brillante” (Light of the Shining Moon) communal bank will start their second cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Collpani regional office. It is comprised of 11 members, and it is directed by a board of directors, which is headed by Alicia. The businesses that the members of the communal bank carry out are varied such as selling pots, neighborhood store, selling jeans, making rubber sandals, electrician, selling food, making cherry treats and chutney, and selling sweets.

Alicia says that she has worked with Pro Mujer for over five years. She became a member of the institution by invitation from a friend. She currently has a business selling sweets, which she has been doing for years. The loan that she will now take out is to increase her capital (to buy sweets). She will buy the sweets in La Ceja, and later she will sell them at her stand. This way of working allows her to generate resources to support her family. She has three children and a life partner.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer she answered that she likes the saving.
