Tataesusai Group's story

In the photo are members of the “Tataesusai” group. They are small-scale businesswomen based in Makeni, a city in northern Sierra Leone. These small-scale businesswomen are collectively requesting a loan of 2,900,000 SLL from SMT and Kiva lenders in order to further expand their respective businesses. Isatu is the leader of this group. Born in Makeni, Isatu is married to a teacher and the couple has four children attending primary schools. Isatu has been doing business for twenty years now. She sells palm-oil, pepper, rice, onions, etc. With her share of this loan, she is going to buy palm-oil, rice and pepper in bulk to add to her business.
