A loan of $225 helped to buy pigs.

Livia Adelina's story

Livia is a member of the Unión y Prosperidad Communal Bank. She lives in the parish of Zhidmad in Cuenca, where the beauty of nature is everywhere. Her church is located in the Parochial Center and it is more than 200 years old. Tari Lagoon is about 5km from the Parochial Center. Its people are kind, responsible, and keep the cultural and traditions of their people alive.

Livia is 26 years old. She is a single mother with a six-year-old son who attends kindergarten in the city. She doesn't have her own home, so she lives with her parents and shares the household expenses.

She has worked as a housekeeper for eight years. She works all day Monday through Friday and at home she raises pigs.

This is the second loan she is taking out with her communal bank and she is going to use it to buy pigs.

Her dream is to own her own home.
