A loan of $2,150 helped a member to buy cosmetics.

Virgen De Bronce (Cuenca) Group's story

The communal bank Virgin of Bronce is made up of 7 women and one man who live in various places in the city of Cuenca. This city has a cold climate, and its mix of the colonial and the modern gives it its beauty. The people are friendly, kind like our members who work in different businesses that allow them to contribute to their household costs and raise their families. The people continue the culture and traditions of their villages.

One of the members of this group is Carmen. She is 25 years old, married, and in her marriage has had 2 children who are 7 and 3 years old. Her first son is studying in a city school. Her husband works in an industrial mechanic shop. She doesn’t have her own home and for that reason she is renting.

Carmen cares for her children and in her free time works selling Avon products. She works from Sunday to Sunday without set hours. Also, there’s times that they call her and she works in a beauty salon.

This is her first loan that she’s gotten in the communal bank which her sister-in-law invited her into. She will invest her loan into the purchase of Avon products.

Her goal is to buy a house.
