Motivadas Por Un Sueño 1, 2 & 3 Group
In this Group: Delia, Elena, Alicia, Dominga, Rosa, Yuli, Odalis, Avelina, Zidor, Osmona, Fernanda, Widna, Yanirda, Gloria, Renaud
Delia is the coordinator of her group "Motivadas por un Sueño". Her group is located in the rural area surrounding El Seybo, an agricultural area. Before Esperanza came to her community, Delia started her business with a first loan that she took from someone in her community. A month later, Esperanza gave her a loan with which she expanded her business. This group is composed of 15 members running different businesses like shoes, clothing, cosmetics, and many other small businesses.

Delia plans to use this loan to invest in her business by purchasing jeans, blouses, t-shirts, shoes and cosmetics. She operates a miscellaneous sales business, selling products like these and many others, such as jewels, underwear, etc. She has had her business for almost two years. She is excited to be taking out her third loan with Esperanza after having successfully repaid her previous loan and expanded her business. She will save her profits to reinvest in her business.

She makes her home here in a simple house with her long-time partner and their three children. She says that her most difficult challenge is to raise her children and to give them all they need. She is dreaming of having her own house and of having a successful business.

Two pictures were taken, one with 10 and another with five, to complete a whole picture with the 15 entrepreneurs.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
