Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Herculano Engelberto's story

Herculano lives with his mother, his wife, and a 22-year-old son. Herculano's work is carpentry, a job he began two years ago. His son helps him make the furniture. He works on order.

For the moment Herculano is requesting a loan to buy cedar, laurel, and olive wood, and varnish, mastic, glue, and other materials necessary for carpentry. This loan will be a great help for improving his shop's productivity.

His objective is to create new designs and in the future have the opportunity to have more customers wanting his furniture.
