A loan of $600 helped to lease land and to buy fertilizers and liquids for the locusts.

Silvia Magdalena's story

Silvia Magdalena, age 18, is single and does not have children. She lives with her parents in Ventantas in the Los Rios Province.

She is a member of the La Union communal bank in the Aguas Frías precinct of the Ventanas canton. This communal bank devotes itself to agriculture, and they grow short cycle corn, rice, and beans.

Silvia grows corn and has chickens and livestock. She buys her agricultural products in Ventanas. She is requesting the loan to lease land and to buy fertilizers and liquids for the locusts. With the help of the loan she will be able to buy fertilizers and weed killers. The challenges she faces are the locust.

Her dream is to be able to have a house. In her free time she likes to listen to music.
