Yeny Nancy's story

Yeny is a very hardworking woman who is 42 years old, but feels like a youth of 20. She lives in the city of Pisco, which is known for its beautiful beaches, and most of all, its fish. Yeny, like a good Peruvian, enjoys food very much, but the dish that she likes the most is the delicious "Caucau" (tripe stew), which she would never get tired of even if she ate it every day. She tells us that she has only a 5th grade education, because her parents did not have sufficient resources for her to study more. Ever since she was young, she had to work in order to contribute to the household. Now Yeny works in her own business selling food. She works about 8 hours a day, and she is able to serve up to 40 customers a day. She believes that her business is doing well because she makes really delicious food, and also because she provides very friendly service to her customers. Yeny is very happy and appreciative of the Kiva lenders, because with the help that they provide, she will be able to buy tables, chairs, and fans for her business. With this improvement, her customers will have more tables where they can enjoy the food that Yeny sells, and they will be much more comfortable. As a result, she will have better earnings so that she can continue to save for her biggest dream - which is to have her own restaurant.
