A loan of $800 helped to buy firewood.

Souleymane's story

Souleymane was born in November 1964 in Doumanani, a prefecture of Sikasso. He is a polygamist, and he has two wives and eleven children. His family lives in Hamdallaye, a working-class neighborhood in the city of Sikasso.

About two years ago, after having pursued several business activities unsuccessfully, Souleymane began buying and selling firewood. He buys the firewood in Denderso and its surrounding areas. He is in very high demand thanks to the quality of his product.

To satisfy his ever-growing customer base, he decided to join the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso. This is his second individual loan through Soro Yiriwaso. His first loan was repaid properly.

With this second loan, he plans to buy five truckloads (10 tonnes) of firewood.

With this loan, he plans to achieve monthly profits of 175,000 FCFA, which will mainly the used to cover family expenses and pay the interest of his loan. The rest will be reinvested in his business.
