A loan of $750 helped to hire workers.

Maria's story

Maria is 27 years old and a hard worker. She lives in her own house with her husband, Jose, who is 28 years old, and with their three dear children who are the motivating factor behind all her efforts. The products that Maria has managed to cultivate through her will and commitment have helped her a lot in improving her life.

Every morning, she begins working on her land, as she knows that the care she provides to her coffee plants will help her obtain a good harvest. What she likes most about her job is to take care of her crops, and she feels very happy when she sees them large and leafy. She has been doing this work for 15 years and thinks that the most difficult part of the job is to take her harvest to the city of San Francisco, where she receives better prices for her products. In the future, she hopes to plant more cacao as she currently has uncultivated land.

This will be Mari's second loan with MFP. She knows that she must make all of her payments punctually and is ready to do so. With the 2000 nuevos soles (the Peruvian currency), she will hire workers who can help her with the weeding and who will take care of the harvest of her products.
