Mariya's story

Mariya is married and has a grown daughter. Mariya lives and works in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk. At one time she worked at a radio factory. After the closure of the factory Mariya was forced to go to the market and start her own business. She is now engaged in retailing women's shoes at the central market of her native city where there is always a lot of potential buyers. She has been working in this field for twelve years. Her net income at the moment is 5,000 hryvna.

Mariya plans to invest the loan from Kiva in the amount of 17,000 hryvna to buy a range of winter shoes, precisely she wants to buy 65 pairs of shoes for the resale. Winter shoes are still in demand and Mariya hopes to increase her income from good sales. Mariya enjoys working with this type of product, and while she used to sell a variety of other things before, now she has decided to deal exclusively with selling of women's shoes. Her daughter helps her in this business who works on the same market by selling a similar product at her point of sale.
