In this Group: Regina, Maria , Teresa , Florencia , Sabina , Daisi , Francisca , Marciana , Francisca , Sonia
The “San Blas” group has ten women members from one of the most distant communities from the city of Curuguaty. Because it’s so difficult for them to come to the city, Fundación Paraguaya has gone to them to offer them the opportunity to get ahead and to help them get ahead.

One of the members is María who tells us that she is a vegetable merchant. She sells onions, tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins and other types of vegetables. She relates that she herself is the seller and with much effort is able to help her family cover daily expenses that arise.

She is asking Fundación Paraguaya and Kiva for help to be able to buy tomatoes, peppers, onions, leafy green vegetables and other types of vegetables to stock up and have products available to offer her customers.

About Fundación Paraguaya

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
