Taiz, Yemen / Grocery Store

A loan of $475 helped to purchase grocery goods for his business.

Adeeb's story

Adeeb is a 26-year-old man living in Taiz, Yemen. He completed secondary school but was not able to proceed further with his studies due to the difficult living conditions he faced. Adeeb's business is a grocery store, which he started three years ago by working with others. He worked hard to raise money to establish the business as it was to be the starting point of his young life. Adeeb was able to gain many customers and he is now inspired to expand his capital and income by purchasing all the grocery items needed by members of his neighborhood. To do this, Adeeb has taken a youth loan of 100,000 YER from Kiva partner AMB for purchasing all the required grocery items. In the future, Adeeb hopes to expand his business by opening another store to sell gas cylinders.
