Vyukadukore K A Group

Burundi
Bujumbura, Burundi / Restaurant

A loan of $5,000 helped a member to buy bean, rice, sweet potatoes, meat, table salt, palm oil, … for her food-serving business.

Vyukadukore K A Group's story

Françoise, age 35, is a member of Vyukadukore K A Group. She lives in Gitega and is married to Ruhungo, a fish seller. Together, they have four children, aged 5 to 14. Out of them, three attend school.

Françoise has been running a restaurant for six months. She prepares and sells cooked dishes (bean, rice, sweet potatoes, meat, etc). Previously, she used to sell avocados, sugarcane, peanuts, ripe bananas, etc.

She's seeking her fourth loan from Kiva's partner, Turame. She will use it to increase her working capital and buy a large quantity of products for her food-serving business: bean, rice, sweet potatoes, meat, table salt, palm oil, etc.

In the forthcoming years, she would like to diversify her business.
