A loan of $3,075 helped a member to diversify his business by adding fresh food needed in his area.

Bénédiction Plus Group's story

Bénédiction Plus is a group of eight owners of small businesses, chaired by René. Its members are jointly responsible for loans granted by Kiva through the micro-finance institution HOPE DRC to grow their businesses.

René sells drinks in the eastern area of Kinshasa. He has been in the business world since 2007, selling the same product. With hard work and good management, he succeeded in making his business thrive, thanks to the accumulated profits. He is a loyal client of IMF HOPE RDC who has already received 19 different loans and has repaid them properly. He plans to use the coming loan to diversify his business by adding fresh food needed in his area. Currently, his business brings in a profit of US $200 per week. He dreams of one day opening a large drink facility in his environment. René is 53 years old, married, and the father of five children whose ages vary between 4 and 12 years old. Four of them attend school.
