A loan of $375 helped to purchase coffee plants.

Efrain's story

Efraín is 25 years old and lives with Sonia who is 26 in their own home with their two children: Yony who is five and Heidy who is 3, where harmony reigns. The work that Efraín does is working the earth, where he cultivates coffee plants. His parents taught him to till the earth and with his accumulated savings he was able to realize his urge to have his own plot of land. He knows of the arduous work in the fields, as he has worked his own land for 15 years. During harvest season he has the support of his children and day laborers who take care of transporting the harvested products a certain distance for their eventual sale. He feels strongly committed to his work, because thanks to his daily effort he today enjoys seeing the results. Similarly he comments that the winter season is not to his liking because those are the months in which a greater number of insects abound which are damaging to his crops.

This is his first loan with MFP. He knows that if he pays on time he will have access to another loan more easily and without causing complications for his communal bank. With the 1,000 Peruvian soles he will purchase coffee plants to be grafted and make a good profit from his results.
