A loan of $575 helped to hire day laborers.

Alberto's story

Alberto, 39, is a cheerful, tenacious man living in his own house with his four beloved children that he wants to provide a better quality of life for. Alberto is a very productive man; he is very dedicated to the work he does. His work consists in tilling the soil; he’s a coffee farmer. He’s been in this line of work for more than 20 years and hires day laborers to help him with harvesting so that he can extract the fruit more quickly. He sells his production to gathering firms who pay well for each kilogram of product that he sells. He considers the most difficult part of the job having to transport his products from his fields to the gathering centers located in the city of San Francisco. For now, his main priority is to buy new land to expand his fields and increase production to provide his family with good economic stability.

This is his first MFI loan and he’s willing prepared to make all his installment payments punctually because he’d like to access a future loan later on. He will use the 1500 new soles to hire day workers to help him remove weeds that are encroaching on his plants.
