A loan of $400 helped to buy raw materials like leather and supplies like buckles and glue.

Pedro Alberto's story

Pedro is a 66 year old widower. He makes women’s shoes using leather and synthetics. Pedro started his business in 2008. Once he was trained in leatherwork, and he learned all of the skills for working with leather and it derivatives. He managed to develop his entrepreneurial idea. That is how he decided to select a line to launch in the market. This line was children’s and women’s sandals.

He distributes them through his daughter in the city of Cali. He also makes boots that he sells in the capital of Colombia, Bogotá. He enjoys great acceptance from his customers in the surrounding stores. He visits them to offer his products.

He currently does not have sufficient working capital. His customers increase, and he needs to always respond quickly. That is why he is requesting a Kiva loan, his first loan with the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. He will buy raw materials like leather and supplies like buckles and glue to make new designs and to have an impact on his customers. They always expect to buy beautiful styles from Pedro.
