A loan of $1,100 helped to buy serger sewing machine, raw materials and supplies.

Gladys Cecilia's story

From a very young age Gladys watched her mother sew and learned much of what she knows how to do today because through courses she perfected her art especially in openwork and embroidery. She has defined her line specifically in infant ware. Her greatest gift is her creativity with which she designs and manufactures dresses for little girls, especially.

With her business she has managed to support her home’s wellbeing; it is composed of her husband and three children whose ages range between 30 and 33. Her goal is to continue making progress to reach a more formalized business structure with technology that will create jobs. While this happens, however, she works daily with much effort, dynamism and joy obtaining a profit margin of no less than 38.5% and a 30-day stock turnover rate; her accounts receivable are 12 days.

She is currently applying for her first loan from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo that she’ll use to buy a serger sewing machine, raw materials and sewing supplies to respond to her demanding clientele with the delicate finishing touches that only she provides in her market.
