Isabel Robertina

Bolivia
La Paz, Bolivia / Sewing

A loan of $1,200 helped to buy fabric and thread to make clothes.

Isabel Robertina's story

Isabel is a client of the institution and member of the communal bank "TUNKA". She has four children, two of which are in college, one in school, and the other at home. Isabel sews on an order basis and also makes her own designs. She lives in the Villa Victoria area in her father-in-law's home, but as soon as her house is finished they will be moving. Her business is located in the Achumani area, quite a distance from where she lives. Therefore Isabel gets up very early to do her housework before going off to work.

She is requesting a loan to buy fabric and thread because there is much demand during this time of year and she will begin sewing wholesale garments. This will allow her to increase her capital for the orders her customers have already placed and which she must deliver.
