A loan of $750 helped to hire day laborers.

Teresa's story

Rosa, 47, is married to Teofilo, 46 and they have four children. They live together in their own house located in the community of Tarancato in Pichari District. Rosa is a tenacious mother who gave everything for her minor children’s wellbeing. She grows coffee and cocoa beans on fields located half an hour from her community. She works in a coordinated way alongside her husband but during harvesting she always needs extra staff to help facilitate picking the fruit. Rosa is happy with the work she does because in the last few years the products have been generating good income which allowed her to build her house out of substantial building materials on a lot of her own. This will be her second MFP loan and she commits to make her installment payments punctually. She’s happy and content with her communal bank because all of them are good, supportive workers. She will use the 2000 new soles to provide maintenance to her fields for which she will hire day laborers.
