Maria Emilia's story

María Emilia, age 50, has three grown children between the ages of 23 and 28. She is married, and she lives in Cofradia, Cortes.

María wants to inspire people and provide them with the art of sewing. Eleven years ago she set up her own seamstress shop. She makes clothes, bed linens, slipcovers, curtains, and others. She acquired great experience when she worked at a factory.

She has received nine loans from ODEF, which she has invested in her business. She has managed to get good income.

She will use this current loan for 15,000 lempiras to buy materials to make clothes. Her plan is to continue growing in her business in order to improve her standard of living and to help her family.
