A loan of $550 helped to buy stock merchandise for her store.

Verónica De La Nube's story

Verónica is a member of the “Zhullin” communal bank. She lives in the sector of the same name in the city of Azogues. This city is known as San Francisco de Peleusí de Azogues and is considered to be one of Ecuador’s cultural and architectonic heritage cities. Its residents are merchants, raise animals and farm and are noted for being nice and kind people; they preserve their culture and traditions.

Verónica is 29 years old, married and has two children who are 7 and 2 years old. Her oldest son attends the local little school and her husband is a private employee. The house she lives in is hers.

Verónica works taking care of her home because her children are still small but she also raises chickens for her own consumption and has had a grocery store for the last five years where she works Sunday to Sunday.

She’s in her third loan with the communal bank and will use it to buy basic staple items for her store. Her goal is to complete her University education.
