A loan of $1,050 helped to buy a pair of oxen.

José Antonio's story

Jose, 76, is married and has 2 children.

He has been a farmer since he was very young; his parents and other relatives taught him how to do this type of work. He specializes in growing corn and sorghum. He gets up every day at 3:30am to feed his cows and milk them. Later on he goes to the countryside to work for 8 hours, either to harvest or to clear his cornfields.

Jose is requesting a loan from Fundación Campo to buy a pair of oxen to transport his harvest from the place where he grows the crops to his house, which is a distance of about 4 kilometers, since they charge a lot of money for this service. Thus, he will be able to save money, and he can also lend out his oxen to other people who need them. In this way, Jose hopes to provide his family with a better quality of life.
