A loan of $750 helped a member buy machine to extract juice from sugarcane.

Mamoona's Group's story

I am the group leader, Manoona K.. I am married and a mother of four: three boys and one girl. All of my children are below 16 and attend school, except the youngest who is not yet of school age. My husband is a farmer and now he wants to start a sugarcane-juice corner. He therefore will buy a machine that is used to extract the juice. My loan group members and their businesses are: Shamim B., who will use her share of the loan to buy a dairy cow; Abdul Q., who needs this loan to buy a juicer for her husband's juice corner; and Shaheen K., who wants to buy an embroidery machine.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

In this group: Mamoona, Shamim, Abdul, Shaheen
