A loan of $575 helped to buy fish and trays, and to upgrade her food stall.

Medali's story

Medali, 25, is a young woman who lives with her common-law husband and three children. She is very kind and hard-working, and lives with her parents-in-law where she does everything she can to have a better quality of life and give her family all the best. Medali sells fish for a living. Every day she gets up early to go to the port to buy the freshest, largest fish. From there she goes to the city market where she has a small stall. There she begins cleaning the fish and displaying it to the public.

She has very good customers who have been loyal since the very first day of business. Her charisma and kindness make them always return to her. She has been in business for five years with her husband's help and, together, they make a good team. She very much enjoys what she does since she has the afternoons off and uses the time to help her children with their homework and other activities.

She hopes to expand her business and grow enough to continue improving her economic situation. This is her third loan through MFP and she is happy to be able to count on the financial support. This will give her the confidence to advance in her business. She is committed to paying back the loan on time, as with previous loans. She enjoys being part of the communal bank because all of the members are very responsible, supportive people.

The 1,500 PEN loan will be used to buy fish and trays to display the products. She also wants to upgrade her food stall.
