Jitume Group's story

Talasia, who is in her early 30s, is a widow with two children who are still going to school. She has been running two businesses selling wheat flour and clothes for three years now. She works from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be her fourth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to start selling clothes door to door, buy more tons of maize to grind and sell as flour, and pay school fees. She has paid back all her loans successfully. She wants a loan to buy more tons of maize to grind and sell as wheat flour.

She will share this loan with her loan group "Jitume," which has a total of 15 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
