A loan of $1,000 helped to buy apples, oranges, tangerines, pears, and lettuce among other things.

Martha Elisa's story

Martha is 39 years old and is cheerful, friendly, honest, and hardworking. She lives with her husband and children in Tulcán, the capital of the province of Carchi. She sells fruit and vegetables.

Martha is taking her seventh loan from Fodemi, which she will use to buy fruits and vegetables at wholesale price, such as bananas, apples, oranges, tangerines, pears, and lettuce among other things. Due to a lack of working capital, her business is low on stock, which causes her to have poor income for providing for her family. With this investment Martha will achieve better sales and improved income, which will help her to provide for her children, giving them food and an education, which are the most important things.

Martha’s dream is to continue in good health and to work for her children.
