A loan of $2,275 helped a member to buy summer clothing to sell.

Mujeres Unidas Group's story

The "Mujeres Unidas" ["United Women"] committee was formed in April 2008. After great efforts, they are now in their seventh loan cycle, working together in solidarity within the program. In addition to the work of each member, they also carry out joint activities, and they help each other to reach the objectives they set as a group.

Fátima is one of the group's members. She works selling clothing and bedsheets. She also works part-time at a school cafeteria. She defines herself as a very determined and self-sacrificing woman, who puts forth the maximum effort to give her family everything they need.

She is requesting the loan to buy summer clothing, so she can stock up on it and thus have a wide variety to offer her customers.

In this group: Fatima Beatriz, Francisca, Perla, Lidia, Digna, Arcenia, Ramona, Isabel, Benerarda, Sonia, Petrona, Gladys*, Zulma*
