Hazel is from Mayor's Village Lapasan, Clarin Misamis Occidental. She is 38 years old. Hazel is married and has five children.
To make a living, she owns and operate a business venture, planting and harvesting coconuts for sale. Hazel has been in her business for ten years and earns 4,000 PHP a month from these activities.
In 2007, Hazel joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Hazel is requesting a loan of 7,050 PHP which will be used to purchase fertilizer such as manure. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
