A loan of $1,100 helped a member to buy meat and vegetables.

Las Negras Group's story

The “Las Negras” group is composed of three hardworking, enterprising women. The group coordinator is Elizabeth del Carmen, 28, who is an itinerant vegetable and meat merchant. She’s been in business for about six years to continue improving and supporting her five children who are 12, 11, 6 and 2 years old and the youngest who is 7 months old.

With the previous loan in addition to increasing her inventory she managed to buy utensils, tables, baskets and scales. With this loan she plans to buy products, especially meat and vegetables, and continue improving the business.

The other group members are Yolanda, 21, who has a grocery store and Verónica, 24, who sells Avon products.
