A loan of $3,025 helped a member to buy more sacks of charcoal to sell.

Furaha Chanika Group's story

Mohamed, who is in his early 30s, is single. He has two children, one of whom goes to nursery school. He has been running a charcoal business for five years now. He works from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be his first loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He will use the loan to buy more sacks of charcoal. His dream is to one day be able to build his own house.

He will share this loan with his loan group "Furaha Chanika," which has a total of 15 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
