A loan of $775 helped to buy clothes and cosmetics.

Rubia Lastenia's story

Rubia is a member of the Renacer Uncovia communal bank. She lives in the city of Cuenca, one of the most important cities in the country. It is a mixture of the colonial and the modern. Its people maintain the traditions and culture of their parents.

Rubia, age 45, is married and has five children; ages 24, 20, 15, 7, and 5. Her first two children work and help her financially. Her third child goes to high school, and the last two children go to a city school. She does not have her own house; she rents where she lives.

Rubia sells Yanbal brand cosmetics. She also sells all types of clothes. She has been doing this for five years. She sells her products by traveling through the city. She works every day without a fixed schedule.

This is her second loan in her communal bank. She will use it to buy clothes and cosmetics in order to increase her merchandise.

Her goal is to have her own place to sell her products.
