A loan of $1,125 helped to buy bedspreads, blankets and pots.

Bernita's story

Bernita, 39 years old, is a hard-working woman. She has been living with her partner Carlos for the last 15 years. Both have 4 children whom they look after in her mother's house, located in the city of Pampas. Together with her husband they work in various activities. The main one during the year is agriculture. They have 10 years experience planting potatoes, peas, ulluco and corn in their 7 agricultural plots. These they acquired thanks to their constancy and effort.

Furthermore, with each harvest they travel to the capital of the country to market their foodstuffs. However during market days and festivities they do business which includes selling blankets, mattresses, hats, wooden spoons and clay pots to the different settlements in the area, such as Salcabamba, Tayacaja, Quishuar and others, where she is renowned and makes good profit as she has regular customers.

Now she wishes to save money to buy her own house. She belongs to the solidarity group "Las Líderes de Santa Anita" and this is her second loan with MFP where she is very happy as she will have financial support and will therefore feel sure about moving on with her business. On the other hand she promises to comply with her quota payments. Furthermore, she likes to be part of her association because all of its members are responsible, supportive people. Bernita, on receiving support; will invest the requested money in buying bedspreads, traditional blankets and pots wholesale, in order to stock her business.
