Manuel Francisco's story

Manuel is 38 years old and lives in the southwest of the city. He has 3 children between the ages of 10 and 15 years old. He has a business through which he sells fruit in the many city neighborhood and with which he’s supported himself and his family. Initially he was an assistant in a cabinetry shop where he was for many years and got to know a lot of people. So when he decided to start his own business venture he approached them, and they became his first business clients in the market. Today he’s branched out to various city neighborhoods, and he needs to grow even more. Now he’s applying to his Kiva lender, and he will buy bulk quantities of one of the fruits that’s most requested by his customers in this season, avocados. He’s been working in this business for 11 years, and he knows it well. His dream for the future is to have his own home and to expand his business until he turns it into a well established distributor that can bring in more income for him and for many other vendors.
